Here you can read stories of families we have helped, after reading them please think about supporting our work by making a donation.
Here at The Brompton Fountain, we have set ourselves a big mission in supporting children with heart and lung conditions, along with their families. We aim to help families before they need us by raising awareness and recognition of these conditions, during their time receiving treatment at our hospitals with support and care, and after they leave with community work and events. Therefore, there are countless opportunities for volunteers to come and work with us, whether it be a specific role for regular commitment or providing help on an ad hoc basis. We greatly value all of our volunteers and strive to create an inclusive and joyful space for them to thrive; whilst supporting them every step of the way. Not only do our volunteers create a hugely positive impact on the families we work with, but this work also impacts them by making them feel like they have made a meaningful difference whilst building a connection with others. Along with this, voluntary work is very valuable for building a CV; especially during or after a break from paid work, whilst studying, or during a gap year.
We recognise that volunteers are giving us their time and effort for free, and we greatly appreciate that. Therefore, we make it an aim of ours to make sure volunteers always feel supported and recognised in our community. We are an inclusive organisation who strive to offer equal opportunities to those who wish to partake in this work. We offer mandatory training to our volunteers to make sure they, and those they come in contact with, are always safe. This training includes child protection, safeguarding and onboarding training. We also wish to provide extra training for those who have highlighted a need or interest to develop a specific skill that is relevant to their role within the charity. Furthermore, we are happy to provide detailed references for our volunteers for job applications and future voluntary roles.
At the heart of The Brompton Fountain, for both staff and volunteers, is supporting and keeping safe the children and their families who are affiliated with our cause. In order to do that, we ensure all volunteers with the charity are fully vetted; with a fully enhanced DBS check and complete references. They must complete mandatory child protection, safeguarding and onboarding training, as outlined in our safeguarding policy. To find out more please do contact us.
