Our charity provides vital help and assistance to families seen at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. This can range from face to face chats and telephone support to all of the little extras that can make a stay in hospital more comfortable, such as refreshments for parents, implementing improvements to facilities and funding special rewards, treats and toys for young patients.
There are many ways that you can get involved in our work and make a significant difference to the lives of children with serious heart and lung conditions, and their families. You could help us as an individual by holding an event or taking part in a sporting activity to raise funds or why not ask your employer, school or club to facilitate a joint venture. There are endless possibilities, and our team are here to assist you in bringing your ideas to life.
In July, NHS England announced provisional plans to end congenital heart disease services (CHD) at Royal Brompton from 2018.
The hospital is world renowned for treating babies, children and adults from across the globe with complex CHD and has consistently been one of the five best-performing centres in the UK in terms of mortality rates.
Removing CHD services will affect other areas too, such as the paediatric intensive care unit and specialist respiratory care. We are fighting against the plans - Find out how you can help by following the link below.
As well as our many ongoing and exciting support projects in progress, we are currently raising funds to buy brand new monitoring equipment for the main children’s ward at Royal Brompton Hospital - to provide individually tailored, second by second, statistics for each child.
If you would like to support the appeal, and help us to reach our target, by making a donation or starting a fundraising campaign of your own you can find out how below.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved with The Brompton Fountain and meet new people, as well as gain experience and skills for your CV. We are a friendly and dedicated team looking to expand and build on the work that we can provide. If you would like to find out more about the specific roles we currently have available, or how to help out in a more general way with our fundraising events or parties, please get in touch.
