COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Educational Support

Heart and lung conditions can be unknown to many prior to diagnosis. That is why we place such importance on being able to provide education and information to our families to help support them with their understanding.

We host educational talks and webinars based on what patients and families believe would benefit them most. Suggestions have included First Aid Training for parent/carers, supporting families with DLA and other financial aid, supporting sick children with SEN, tube feeding, wellbeing support, and more.

“It was such a meaningful day, not only to share my own story, but to see how many people connected with it and to meet other families too. It brought up a lot of emotion for me, but in a freeing way. The kindness and encouragement from everyone meant a lot.” – Patient

Educational days for families, such as our Patient Cardiac Device Day and Transition Day, are wonderful opportunities for patients and the wider family to hear from experienced medical professionals on issues that may be concerning them.

“It was inspiring to see how much thought had gone into creating a space where young people with devices could learn, ask questions, and feel understood. It demonstrated just how much you care about your patients. This reminded me how lucky I am to be under such a supportive and forward-thinking team.” – Patient
