Leo's story written by mum Lucy. On the 26th of December 2016 we were sat in the parents room of the NICU at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, waiting to hear what was wrong with our poor, perfect, 9 day old baby boy. Leo had seemed to have a slight cough on Christmas day
Since Rory was born he has been diagnosed and treated for several conditions including Coarctation of the Aorta, Trachea-Oesophageal Fistula (TOF) and Artresia. Teams at Chelsea and Westminster and the Royal Brompton worked together and after a long and bumpy ride, Rory is coming on along in leaps and strides.
Katie, aged 9, has a condition called Supra-Ventricular Tachycardia. When she has an episode her heart beats very hard and fast doing 240 beats per minute. It is as if her heart is trying to burst through her chest
In the words of her mum Emma: I was 30 weeks pregnant when I found out that our baby was going to need heart surgery as she had a condition called Coarctation of the Aorta, as well as a VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect) and three ASDs (Atrial Septal Defects).
Daisy was born on 10th September 2010 weighing a very healthy 8lbs 4. Everything was fine for the first 3 months then on New Year's Eve 2010 she got diagnosed with hip dysplasyia and she was put in a hip harness for 4 months
