The Brompton Fountain supports families whose children are under treatment for life threatening heart and lung conditions within the Royal Brompton and Harefield  NHS Foundation Trust. Life for these families can be incredibly stressful.

The Brompton Fountain helps in many ways, including; providing information, putting people in touch with others in similar situations, holding fun and social events, improving the physical facilities and environment families have access to while in hospital and offering support to the siblings of children with heart and lung conditions.

The Brompton Fountain was born from a need and desire on the part of the hospital and families to improve parent involvement with patient care. A meeting in November 2003, organised by the hospital, brought together staff and parents to discuss how better to improve the experience for paediatric patients and their families.

Geoff Baldwin, the deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, who attended and facilitated much of this crucial meeting, said: "As a result of this, a group of parents, including myself, went on to found The Brompton Fountain. I am very proud to have been involved with establishing this charity and to have had the privilege of working with the other parent and staff trustees."

The following objectives are central to our ongoing strategy.

1. To provide information for parents and families of children undergoing treatment within the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust.
2. To provide a support network for parents and families of children undergoing treatment within the Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust.
3. To help ensure a comfortable and relaxing environment
for families whilst their child is receiving care as an inpatient in the Royal Brompton Hospital.
4. To act as advocates for parents and families of children undergoing treatment within the Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust.
